Mexicali México Orphanages

SATURDAY.  One of the days I look forward to each month is driving to Mexicali to spend time with some of the most loving children I have ever met.   The Mexicali border is home to many orphan home facilities that are dependent on volunteers for time and donations because they receive very little support from the Mexican government.  Many of these children come from homes where they are mentally and physically abused and are neglected and are simply in need for time, love and attention.

Every first Saturday of each month we pack into vans and cars and make the small one-day trip to Mexicali Mexico.   We visit three orphanages that Geir the founder of the local Long Beach non-profit Yes We Serve  has partnered with and have supported for many years.  We have the privilege of spending time at each orphanage where we play games and serve each of the houses lunch.
